Growing up, I used to shoot on VHS all the time. Even in Japan, China, and Korea, I spent a lot of time loading MiniDV’s into the camera, directing such forgotten treasures as Meat Salad and Tears for Tono. But that was years ago. Upon returning to the states in 2013, I found myself turning more to the written word, a comforting space I continue to find great joy in inhabiting.
Now, I’d like to merge my eyes and hands, to synthesize works and bring them to you when I feel they are ready. These three are documents in observation and form. I’ve been experimenting with these quiet short form works. I welcome you to join me as the process continues unfolding. There are a lot of exciting projects that are in the planning stages. I post there, because they will be the seeds of these forthcoming longer works. Thank you.
